While many did not notice and pay attention, there is two special luxury cars which featured at the 2023 Russia – Africa summit:

The AURUS SENAT made in Russia and the HONGQI H9 made in China which were used to transport African Presidents and Diplomats.

If there is further confirmation of the changing world order, then this is an addition to it; That Germany, the UK and the US as definers of luxury automobiles is no more.

China which has aggressively come aboard even to dominate the position of the biggest exporter of automobiles in the world surpassing Japan in 2023 after overtaking Germany in 2022 for the second place has arrived on the scene.

It is indeed no accident that Europe has of late become colder towards China and has developed a similar anti-China rhetoric as the United States of America.

The use of the Chinese HONGQI H9 to transport delegates attending the 2nd Russia-Africa summit is also testament to the Russia-China relationship which they clearly stated, it’s a relationship with no limits in a new era.

What Africa must look for is technology transfer, not merely investment but technology from both Russia and China. Working as a Unit Africa must pinpoint specific industries where it wants to advance and have them located in various countries, the era of useless competition for investment in Africa should be put to rest, it has not produced the Industrialization we desire and therefore it’s time to change strategy.
